Privacy policy

Plain-English answers for parents, carers and teachers. Last updated 26 October 2026.

The short version

  • No accounts. Children never create an account or type in a name, email or photo.
  • No ads and no tracking cookies. We don't sell or share anyone's information.
  • Progress stays on your device. Unlocked books, coloring and passport stamps are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.
  • Questions? Email [email protected].

Who we are

Ciorium makes learning books and online activities for children, including the Road Trip Across America series. This policy covers the website ciorium.com. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Ciorium.

What we collect

From children: nothing. The website has no sign-up, no chat, no comments and no forms that ask for personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, for example how many people opened a coloring page after scanning its QR code. It does not use cookies, does not track anyone across other websites, and only gives us totals, never who someone is.

Technical information. Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) briefly processes technical details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages securely and protect the site from attacks. We don't use this to identify anyone.

If you email us. If you write to one of our addresses, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Please don't send us a child's personal details.

Progress saved on your device

When you unlock a book, color a page or earn a passport stamp, the website saves this in your browser's local storage on that device. It never leaves your device and we can't see it. You can delete it at any time from My passport ("Clear progress on this device") or by clearing your browser's site data.

Unlock codes are checked inside your browser. The code you type is not sent to us.

Cookies

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots. It isn't used for tracking or advertising.

Other websites

Our Amazing Facts link to the sources we checked them against, such as the National Park Service, and our book pages link to Amazon. Those websites have their own privacy policies. We suggest a grown-up opens outside links with children.

Who we share information with

We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We use a small number of service providers to run Ciorium: Cloudflare (website hosting, security, visit counts and email forwarding) and Google (our email inbox). They process information only to provide those services.

How long we keep things

We keep emails only as long as we need them to help you, and delete them when they're no longer needed. Visit counts are totals and contain no personal details.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we'll delete it.

We aim to follow children's privacy laws, including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Australia's Privacy Act. If you're not happy with how we handled a privacy concern, you can contact your local privacy regulator, for example the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or the US Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov).

Changes to this policy

If we add new features, such as parent accounts or videos, we'll update this page before they go live and change the date at the top. We will never start collecting information from children without first asking a parent.
